ABOUT
Gil Smith is a compelling voiceover artist, speaker, and advocate whose signature tone offers warmth and sincerity. His passionate delivery resonates with audiences across industries. Whether he's narrating high-stakes training materials, delivering keynote speeches on leadership and resilience, or lending his voice to the world of motorsports, Gil brings warmth, wisdom, and impact to every word.
His voice career began in the U.S. Navy, where he was recognized for his natural command of tone and presence. In this role, he became a platform instructor, delivering live training programs to small and large audiences Navy-wide. During his career, Gil was deployed to Italy where he was a guest radio personality for the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service. From calmly narrating hypobaric training programs where he was able to lead trainees through stressful situations to serving as the "Voice of God" for formal military ceremonies, Gil’s voice became an integral part of his service.
As a speaker, Gil draws from personal experience such as his transition from active-duty service member to executive, his recovery from a spinal injury, and his ongoing advocacy for veterans. Gil can speak on various topics to small and large audiences about veteran business, health matters, leadership, and personal accountability. He speaks candidly about resilience, recovery, and the power of persistence. He’s also a proud supporter of women in motorsports and appears regularly as a guest contributor on Garage Talk Live.
Prior to his military career, Gil made his start in media early in high school as the anchor for the cable news in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. His top interview was with legendary sports broadcaster Bill Currie! He went on to college to work part time as a DJ, back when it meant hauling vinyl, turntables, amps and speakers.
Today, Gil continues to use his voice both literally and figuratively, to inspire, inform, and ignite meaningful conversations. His ability to lead with authority, authenticity, and empathy laid the foundation for a post-military career centered on communication and connection.
